Through the years of development in the medical industry, various diseases and other health conditions as well as treatments, other forms of cures, and preventions have been tested and endorsed by the experts. Among the conditions which have just been recently accepted in medical studies is Fibromyalgia.
This particular medical condition is characterized by wide spreading pain in the muscle tissues most particularly around the joints, tendons and other ligaments or other connective tissues in the body. The pain is rather chronic and is known to intensify or heighten in its course of pain as well as that of sensitivity to pressure. This particular medical condition has tender spots or tender points where one will have the tendency to experience more pain when firm pressure has been applied. These points include the back of the knees, side and upper parts of the hips, front side of the neck, upper chest, between the shoulder blades, the back of the head, outer elbows and the top of the shoulders. And when there is more than just pain involved, and it becomes associated with other medical or psychological conditions, it is better referred to as Fibromyalgia syndrome.
There are numerous other medical and psychological conditions associated such as osteoarthritis, lupus, headaches, depression, post traumatic stress disorder, irritable bowel syndrome, restless legs syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis and endometriosis. Although not every patient has all these representations, there are some who have one to two conditions while others only have the pain. In theory, those who suffer from this condition rarely reach the peak of relaxation in sleep. They rarely get the pure essence of rest and would often wake up feeling sore or tired though they have been asleep in bed for a fair amount of time as they are not able to reap the rewards of restorative energy which most commonly occurs in one’s slumber.
There are really no known causes of which can prove to be the ultimate source of this kind of medical condition. However , there are some factors of which medical experts believe to be an attribute to this syndrome such as that of genetics wherein the traces of this condition may be inherited from generation to generation wherein genetic mutation plays a key factor in making an individual susceptible to having this kind of condition. Other attributes would include physical and emotional trauma such as that of post traumatic stress disorder as well as that of infections brought about by some illnesses or diseases which can aggravate or trigger the pain development in the muscle tissue.
Fibromyalgia has no official cause and unfortunately also has no official cure; however , there are some medications such as analgesics and anti depressants of which can help ease the pain and aide a patient to be able to sleep soundly at night. There are also those of which can help prevent further development or the spreading of the pain in the joints and the muscles. There are also some acceptable alternative medicines or treatments such as those of chiropractic care and acupuncture.
